Wireless Communication Systems Certificate Overview

Wireless communication systems play a central role in today’s technological ecosystem. They connect people and devices in diverse environments, from homes, to businesses, to roads, to battlefields. This certificate program will provide students with the fundamental concepts necessary to understand and work with various aspects of wireless communication systems, from antennas, to modeling electromagnetic propagation, to signal processing, to multiple-antenna communications.

  • commutation system design

Admissions Information

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.  Degrees in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, related engineering field preferred.

Submit an application to the UNH Graduate School with the following:

  • Prior college transcripts
  • Two letters  of recommendation
  • Resume
  • Personal Statement Essay

  • Full list of application requirements

Priority consideration is given to students whose applications and required materials are received by the following deadlines:

  • Fall/August Admission (e-Term 1):  May 1st 
  • Spring/January Admission (e-Term 3):  November 1st

  • ECE 901 Electromagnetic Wave Theory (3 credits)
  • ECE 920 Wireless Communication Systems (3 credits)

Elective courses (pick two courses from list below) :

  • ECE 814 Introduction to Digital Signal Processing (4 credits)
  • ECE 824 Ubiquitous Computing Fundamentals (4 credits)
  • ECE 900 Research and Development from Concept to Communication (2 semester sequence, 2+2 credits)
  • ECE 924 Ubiquitous Computing (3 credits)
  • ECE 941 Digital Signal Processing (3 credits)

  • ECE 960 Computer Architecture (3 credits)
